If playing Roller Derby is not for you, then Swansea City Roller Derby are always on the lookout for enthusiastic and dedicated people to join our team of Officials. Roller Derby games require two types of officials to make a roller derby game run like clockwork.

Firstly, there are the referees, generally known as Team Zebra.  These guys and girls need to have an in depth knowledge of the rules of the game and be able to enforce them.  Each game requires 7 referees to ensure that all penalties and points are picked up correctly. We can teach you all the skills required to become a referee, including learning how to skate and the rules of the game.

Secondly, there are the Non Skating Officials (NSO). NSO's are essential to the smooth running of any Derby game.  They are responsible for everything from recording the scores and making sure that penalties are served correctly, to ensuring that the track boundaries are safe and  clear.  Just because you aren't a skater does not mean that you not part of the team!

If you are interested in becoming an NSO or a referee for Swansea City Roller Derby then please contact us via email or on Facebook.
